2013: The Fourth Fantastic Fun Day
With a whole bunch of great games and attractions lined up, June 2013 saw another great day out for all the family. The proof, as they say, is in the photos. Are you in any of them?
Segways, kid's Quad bikes, bouncy castles, giant slides, crazy golf and bungee trampolines were the order of the day, with a great selection of performances from the Tae Kwon-Do, Timsbury Primary School and Zumba Groups.
A huge thanks to everyone who helped out organising, sponsoring, exhibiting and of course, to everyone who attended!
Your exclusive sounds this summer
No fun day would be complete without your live local bands, and this wasn't a year to start disappointing anyone. We were delighted to introduce:
With 20 years' worth of playing in the Bristol-Bath region under their belts, Swamp Donkey are a firmly established local Americana bluegrass-style band.
The group moved from Bath to Timsbury last October, and are "very much looking forward" to entertaining the crowds (that's you!) at this year's fun day!
Somerset based Lazibyrd play original songs of love, loss and protest. They have a love of melody and harmony and produce well-crafted songs with exceptional musicianship. A big sound with a skilful combination of voices, guitar, violin, viola and ukelele.
They have toured the South West UK and Ireland, performed live radio sessions, and their debut album, Under the Sky, is gaining critical acclaim and was recently BBC Somerset album of the week.
Sam Evans and his band
Real crowd pleasers, Midsomer Norton-based Sam Evans and band play a jazzy, urban vibe that you just have to move to! Almost impossible to categorise, this young, upcoming group perform a range of unique, "one off" compositions with great vocal leads, snazzy guitar solos, smooth jazzy saxophone and the cool rhythm of the cajon.
These young men leave the audience craving more of their special brand of music.
